Data collection method

Data is collected and transferred to the MSBase Registry via iMed Web.

iMed Web

The iMed Web application is a powerful, easy-to-use data collection and visualisation platform designed specifically for clinicians treating patients with multiple sclerosis. Provided at no cost to participating centres, it supports improved clinical decision-making through streamlined patient data capture, intuitive visual analytics, and evidence-based insights. The platform also enables a smooth and confident transition from iMed Classic and MDS, ensuring continuity of data, familiar workflows, and an enhanced user experience in a modern, secure environment.

iMed Web App Security

Protecting patient data and ensuring platform integrity through enterprise-grade security controls. Features include:

  • Secure Identity Management: Integration with Microsoft Entra ID enables centralised identity control and secure user authentication via trusted enterprise providers.

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Adds an extra layer of protection by requiring additional verification beyond passwords.

  • Interactive Navigation: Click on Visits, MRIs, Treatments, or other elements in the graph to explore details.

  • Flexible Viewing: Easily pinch to zoom and export graphs as PDFs or image files.

  • Customisation: Create, personalise, and save custom graphs that are accessible to all users at your centre.

  • Data Plotting: Display up to two numeric time-series variables and up to ten percentage change variables.

Streamlined Assessment and Data Capture

Streamline the entry and management of patient demographic and longitudinal data. Features include:

  • Clinical Calculators: Built-in tools for EDSS, MS Course, and MusiQOL assessments.

  • Guided Data Entry: A custom wizard simplifies and standardises the data entry process.

  • Report Generation: Easily export comprehensive patient reports and the Patient Overview Graph (POG) as PDFs.

  • Custom Data Fields: Define centre-specific fields (Text, Numeric, Long Text, Date, Checkbox, Dropdown) to collect data tailored to your clinical needs.

  • Data Export and Search: Efficiently search, filter, and export patient-entered data for clinical review or research purposes.

Explore and filter cumulative data across your centre:

  • Interactive Graphs: Use each graph to apply filters and identify patients who meet specific clinical criteria.

  • Export Options: Easily download graphs in PDF or JPG format for reporting or presentations.

Demographic Comparison with the MSBase Registry

Assess how your centre’s patient demographics align with those in the broader MSBase Registry:

  • Visual Benchmarking: Compare your centre(s) to the MSBase Registry across a comprehensive set of demographic metrics.

  • Detailed Analytics: View distributions and central tendency measures (e.g., mean, median) for both your data and the Registry.
