MSBase Foundation Fellowship offers

The MSBase Foundation has revised its fellowship offering and is pleased to announce a new fellowship program introducing two types of research fellowship: the MSBase Fostering Knowledge Fellowship and the MSBase Research Excellence Fellowship.
In 2026, we welcome applications for the first Fostering Knowledge Fellowship. Designed to strengthen clinical research capability across the MSBase network, this fellowship links researchers and clinicians from MSBase centres in low to upper-middle-income countries with leading MSBase centres of research excellence, where they will receive mentorship and training in biostatistics, epidemiology and clinical outcomes research. The aim is to integrate newly acquired skills and experience to their home institution, to increase research capability and engagement with the MSBase Registry.
Five MSBase centres support this initiative by acting as volunteer host institutions. Candidates are required to liaise with a host institution of their choosing regarding a project concept for consideration. Should the host institution wish to collaborate, they will work with the candidate to develop the project proposal and training plan.
MSBase will support the Fellow for a period of one year at the annual rate of AUD 120,000. Funding is primarily intended for the Fellow’s salary support, travel expenses and tuition.
The Foundation’s Research Excellence Fellowship will be offered on an alternating basis.
Eligibility
Applicants are expected to have completed university level studies with a bachelor, master degree or MD or PhD.
Applicants must be associated with a registered MSBase centre in a low to upper middle-income country, as defined by The World Bank listing. The centre Principal Investigator of the applicant’s home institution must endorse the fellowship by providing a letter of support.

In 2024, the MSBase Foundation fellowships were awarded to Miriam Gorostidi (Spain) and Jenny Han (Australia).
